The Quest
We are a people, searching for more, reaching for something higher than ourselves. Whether or not there’s a knowing in the search, a direction, a city upon a hill to rest one’s eyes. Yet relentless we seek, reaching aloft to achieve a greater understanding of a higher purpose, to leave ones mark on a dying world, in hopes of some eternal purpose. We are a people created for more. Created for a capacity to yearn, to reach to seek, to soar. Our souls are magnetic towards the heavens, currents pulling, drawing us upward. And yet, we are here, grounded upon this earth, bound to live out this life before eternity.
Such a conundrum is tugging at our souls, never quite satisfying, but always illuminating a window into awareness that there is something deeper–something more alive than what we can comprehend at this moment. There is a mystery to this Deepness, a Glory in the Hiddenness. A Glory that is worthy of a holy enigmatic fervor upon those who seek to draw into It. A Person worthy of pursuit. He is glorious in His Hiddenness. Such a paradox to consider, the hidden nature of God here on earth, yet fully manifested in Heaven’s Gaze above.
One may stop in the pursuit of this Deepness, in a premature conclusion that God is silent and absent from this earthly plane. Yet what if one considered the Hiddenness of God, that He is worthy of the intrepid explorer traversing the depths of His Glory. And yet even more unexplainable, His invitation is extended to us in this pursuit. Would one step forward in anticipation? To discover the secret path into the Creator?
For we are a people that search for more. What more Worthy a pursuit than this?
