My Dear Alice-
Through the looking glass once did you peer
And see a world unknown drawing so near
Was a call upon your heart pulling you down
Into the rabbit hole deep with that echoing sound
Did you know where your feet soon would stand
Or know what you would find in this strange new land
Alice, from there did you find your pathway home
Please tell me the way–how did you know?
For my heart’s lost in time down this deep rabbit hole
And I cannot stop exploring this world of unknown
Is it safe here to trod? That I do not know
But still I find that down the rabbit hole I go
The pulse of Time’s heart plays games with my mind
And my understanding of self is beginning to unwind
So far away seems the world that I know
As this longing to go deeper continues to grow
For time has no cause here nor fight to the death
My lungs are confused to find their own breath
What season is passing, Alice–do you know?
For down the rabbit hole deeper I go
Unknowing this future that lies before me
Enshrouded within a new world I cannot see
Now lost to the familiar of whence I have been
Down deeper the rabbit hole I go yet again.
